Albrechtsfeld

Albrechtsfeld came into Paps' possession in 1926 (another present from Anna Woerishoffer?) and in 1938*, title was transferred to the "Land und Trust Company" a Swiss holding created specifically for that purpose.  Probably because Paps held a British passport and was not an Austrian national.

After World War II Albrechtsfeld was considered a foreign asset in receivership and was only returned to private ownership through "Alwa  Güter- und Vermögens-verwaltungs Ges.m.b.H.“ in 1948

The name "Alwa" was derived from the combined names Albrechtsfeld and Wasserburg.

Ninety percent of Alwa belonged to Zurich Sullex AG, a subsidiary of Creditanstalt-Bankverein and 10 percent to the "Algemeine Warentreuhand".

In February 1956, the Creditanstalt-Bankverein took over the shares of the subsidiary Sullex AG**.  In other words, Albrechtsfeld was sold for a pittance just at the time Austria once again became a free country.

Terrible timing, but easy to say in retrospect.

* Prior to the Anschluss
** Presumably CHS kept ownership of Albrechtsfeld through Sullex AG and sold it in 1956 a year after the Staatsvertrag  !!   http://www.albrechtsfeld.com/uber-uns
